What is Trader Watching?

Trader watching lets you follow specific Polymarket traders and get notified whenever they make trades. Instead of watching the entire market, you can focus on traders whose moves you want to track.

Follow the Pros

Track successful traders and learn from their strategies

Monitor Competitors

Keep an eye on traders in markets you care about

Personalized Alerts

Get notified only when YOUR traders make moves

Detailed Analytics

See portfolio value, P&L, and trading history

Accessing Watched Traders

Go to the main Dashboard and look for the tabs above the Alert Stream. Click the “Watched Traders” tab to view and manage your watchlist.

Adding Traders to Your Watchlist

The fastest way to watch a trader - do it right from the live feed or history.
1

Spot an interesting trade

In the Alert Stream, History page, or any notification card, find a trade you’re interested in.
2

Click the star icon

Look for the star icon next to the trader’s address. It appears on hover or is always visible depending on the view.
3

Trader is added

The star turns yellow and the trader is instantly added to your watchlist with default settings.
This is the most common way to build your watchlist. See a whale making moves? Star them instantly without leaving the feed.

Understanding the Watchlist Table

Once you have traders in your watchlist, you’ll see a table with detailed information:

Configuring Trader Settings

Each watched trader can have custom filter settings. Click the settings icon on a trader row to configure:

Display Label

Give your watched traders memorable names:
Instead of: 0x1234...5678
You see: WHALE_HUNTER
This helps you quickly identify traders in notifications.

Trade Floor (Minimum Size)

Set a minimum trade size for this specific trader:
SettingEffect
$0Get alerts for ALL their trades
$1,000Only trades above $1,000
$10,000Only significant trades
Per-trader minimums are separate from your global filters. You might have a global minimum of $5,000 but track a specific trader’s $1,000+ trades.

Buy/Sell Notifications

Toggle which trade types you want to see:
SettingWhat You’ll See
Both enabledAll trades from this trader
Only BUYOnly when they buy (bullish moves)
Only SELLOnly when they sell (taking profits/bearish)

Bulk Settings

Need to update settings for all traders at once?
  1. Click “Bulk settings” button in the header
  2. Set global minimum trade size
  3. Toggle buy/sell notifications
  4. Click “Apply to All”
This overwrites individual settings! All traders will get the same filter settings. Custom labels are preserved.

Free vs Premium Limits

Free users: When you reach the 3-trader limit, you’ll need to remove an existing trader before adding a new one. Or upgrade to premium for unlimited tracking!

Removing a Trader

To stop watching a trader:
  1. Hover over the trader row
  2. Click the trash icon on the right
  3. They’ll be removed from your watchlist immediately

Notification Behavior

Watched trader alerts bypass your global filters. They only need to meet the per-trader settings you configured.
Example:
  Global filter: $5,000 minimum
  Watched trader filter: $500 minimum

→ A $1,000 trade from your watched trader WILL trigger an alert
→ A $1,000 trade from anyone else will NOT (below global minimum)
You’ll receive both watched trader alerts AND general market alerts. They’re independent streams - watching a trader doesn’t affect your global filter notifications.

Viewing Trader History

Want to see a trader’s past activity?
  1. Hover over the trader row
  2. Click the history icon
  3. You’ll be taken to the History page filtered to that trader

Tips for Effective Trader Watching

Quality Over Quantity

Don’t watch too many traders. Focus on a few high-quality ones you actually want to track.

Use Labels

Add meaningful labels like “CRYPTO_WHALE” or “POLITICS_EXPERT” to quickly identify traders.

Adjust Minimums

Set appropriate minimums per trader. A whale’s $10k trade is routine; for others it might be significant.

Review Regularly

Periodically review your watchlist. Remove inactive traders and add new interesting ones. The “Last Seen” column shows their recent activity.

Troubleshooting

Check these things:
  1. Notifications enabled? Check the toggle in Control Panel
  2. Trade meets minimums? The trader’s trades might be below your set minimum
  3. Buy/Sell enabled? Make sure the relevant toggle is on
  4. At limit? Free users are limited to 3 active traders
Free users can only actively watch 3 traders. Locked traders are on your list but won’t generate alerts. Remove one trader to unlock another, or upgrade to premium.
The search only finds traders with Polymarket profiles. If search doesn’t work:
  1. Copy their wallet address from Polymarket
  2. Paste the full 0x address into the input field
  3. Click Follow
Data may not be available for all traders, especially:
  • New accounts
  • Accounts with no recent activity
  • Private profiles
Try clicking “Refresh” to update the data.
